A Closer Look
The card from first look is anything other than reference and incorporates the new IceQ X custom cooler from HIS. This cooler sits above the PCB and spans the length of the card. The HIS logo is engraved into it and some stickers to denominate that it’s the IceQ X and Turbo edition card are also on show.
The underneath of the card is nothing out of the norm with a bluey/green PCB which has plenty of screw points fot the heatsink/cover to bolt down onto.
As with all beefy cards in this day and age, it will require two expansion slots in your system.
Even though it’s a Turbo edition card, is only requires one 6-pin PCI-Express power connector, and this is due to AMD’s focus on getting more performance whilst maintaining low power usage and HIS have managed to squeeze even more performance and not had to change this.
For users wanting even more performance, you could always connect another 6800 series card using the CrossFire connector on the top of the card and the pre-supplied CrossFire bridge.
One of AMD’s most favoured technologies at the moment is AMD EyeFinity which offers the user to have a multiple monitor configuration with ease. This is all done through the various connectors on the back panel of the graphics card. This particular card has two DVI ports, a DisplayPort and HDMI port which will aid in connecting up to SIX different displays which can be achieved by various means including daisy chaining or using a DisplayPort hub.
