As the Libratone Lounge has no discernible controls other than a power switch, it makes use of an app that is available for iPhones/iPads and iPods through Apple’s app store, free of charge. When connected to the speaker over wireless, the first tab displays all the Libratone devices that are currently connected to the network, followed by the signal strength.

The sound tab allows you to make use of the FullRoom mode, which balances the sound depending on the location and setup of the speaker.

You can also update the software for the speakers using the update tab. This will notify you if any new updates become available.

As you can see, even the app is still very limited control-wise, so things such as volume and EQ will have to be altered through the device connected to it. Let’s now take a look at the performance.
