Monster Hunter: World Console Release Confirmed with PC Users Having to Wait

The PC Master Race has got to wait

Monster Hunter World is, to many, one of the most anticipated upcoming titles. We speculated earlier in the year that the ‘west’ needed a proper Monster Hunter game. While the Wii has been the Monster Hunter home for a while, it’s lack of resources hasn’t given us the title most fans felt the franchise deserved.

With the official trailer launching last month, we were amazed at how awesome it looked. It really seemed that they were pushing out the graphical boat on this title. Given the franchises amazing popularity in Japan, we expected nothing less. This game deserves to be both amazing to play and beautiful to look at.

Following a speculative article earlier in the year, we were, in addition, thrilled to hear that this was going to get a full-blown PC release.

Well, the news gets even better, for console users at least, as we finally have a release date.

So, when can we expect Monster Hunter World?

Well, I won’t keep you in suspense. The console release, for PS4 and Xbox One, is confirmed January 26th, 2018 reports PCgames.

Unfortunately, however, Capcom has cited that a simple lack of manpower means that a PC release will not be due until later in the year. This is, in itself rather frustrating.

The franchise itself has always stagnated on console. Admittedly it has had the limited technology of Nintendo contend with, however, let’s be honest here, the PC is the best and most logical home for Monster Hunt World. The interface has never entirely suited console controllers and the accessibility of keyboard and mouse always made the most sense.

Unfortunately, we do not, at present have any release date for the PC version. Therefore, the delay is rather frustrating, however, as long as it does come, I’m sure we’ll forgive Capcom. Unless of course the PC version just ends up being a sloppy port. My journalistic knives are sharpening in preparation for that!
