PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale PS3 Review

This week I’ve been playing the most “PlayStation” game available on the market today, I am of course talking about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, a game filled to the brim with top PlayStation game characters in a heated battle to the death in one of this generations least unique fighting games, because lets be honest, this concept isn’t exactly new.

The game its self only came out last November and I’m ashamed to admit its been sat on my review pile quietly hiding from my eyes to the point where I had all but forgotten about it, yet here I am with it finally in my hands and boy do I feel silly for leaving it there for so long, because this game is a lot of fun. Hopefully today I can enlighten you on why I think this is one of the best and games I now have in my collection.

Coming from the developers at SuperBot Entertainment and SCE Santa Monica, Battle Royale is available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Unfortunately the game hasn’t been the biggest success that Sony were hoping for and the developer recently cut back its staff in a bid to save money, how this will effect future updates for the title and any future DLC is unknown but that’s a whole different story from today’s review.

It’s obvious this concept has been well tried and tested with games like Super Smash Bros, but do I care that it’s a remarkably similar concept? Not really, a lot of other reviewers have made a big fuss about this but not me, I’ll be judging this game on its own merrits and short falls.
