Roccat Burst Pro Lightweight Gaming Mouse Review

Performance

The first thing you notice on this mouse is the RGB lighting tech. Of course, the colours are fantastic in their own right. However, it’s that awesome honeycomb design that really pops.

It’s really a triple threat, offering a way for Roccat to remove material, but the honeycomb design also retains an incredible amount of strength, and finally, it just looks dope! It really is that simple.

The lighting is powered by Roccat AIMO too, so it can interact with other AIMO products, supported games, and offers all the usual customisation options we’ve come to expect from modern RGB products.

The mouse its self though, what a fantastic bit of kit! While I haven’t reviewed the XM1 professionally, I have laid hands on one personally. This is just a great evolution of that popular design and puts in plenty of Roccat magic. The ergonomics are a bit better, it’s a bit lighter, the switches are better, the cable is nicer, and it still has RGB where the XM1 does not.

The 16,000 DPI sensor is superb too, albeit, Roccat sensors have been pretty great for a while now, as have most other brands actually. Dropping down to 100 DPI is great for those extremely precise actions or those use like to use all of their 2m wide mouse mats. However, it still tracks perfectly even at the maximum DPI should you really need it. I set mine to about 6K and left it there and it just felt so smooth and responsive.

The heat treated PTFE gets a big thumbs up too. Honestly, this mouse glides so well and it’s so light that a cooling fan or slightly unlevel desk may result in the mouse moving. It’s bloody fantastic to slide around, and just never feels like it’s holding you back from precision movements.

Overall, this mouse gets top marks all around!
