Rockstar Games & Take Two Interactive Swing The Ban Hammers At GTA V Leakers

You might have noticed that there have been hundreds of leaked images, gameplay videos, live stream, gifs, torrents and more for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto Game. Rockstar and Take Two have certainly noticed and they have been on the war path to prevent the game from being leaked further and to (of course) protect their bottom line profits.

If you’ve taken part in uploading anything related to the retail games content that isn’t already authorised by Take Two, then expect a visit from the digital heavies as content is being pulled with impressive haste. Rockstar have been exhibiting a zero tolerance policy and many websites have already chirped up about being contacted by the company, who themselves issued the following message to all would-be leakers.

“Pre-Release Footage: No pre-release leaked footage of any kind: Any posting of in-game footage from leaked copies of the game prior to its official release date will be taken down, regardless of how the game was obtained. This includes “early unboxing” videos.”

Sounds a little over the top if you ask me, especially for those who got their game legitimately early. Live streams have had their accounts banned from streaming services, YouTube videos have been taken down, web pages issued take down notices and more. Rockstar spent $265 million making this game, which is expected to make back over a $1 billion, so you can bet they can a) afford to defend it and b) intend to fight to the death if need be.

Biggest threat of all though is the one you must all follow, don’t play the game early! Microsoft have been following Taketwo and banning consoles that have been found accessing GTA V in any manner whatsoever!

Time to play the waiting game, because it seems Rockstar won’t let the party start until 17th of this month.
