TteSports Theron Infrared Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction

It was only a few months ago that we reviewed the Theron mouse, where we awarded it our Bang For Buck Award. It wasn’t perfect in terms of sensor quality, but it offered performance and quality that far exceeded its price range. Now TteSports have revisited the mouse, given it a new sensor and now it is time to get it back on the test bench and see just what it is capable of.

TteSports have been taking the gaming peripherals world by storm in the last couple of years and they’ve won plenty of awards from us here at eTeknix, but also from many other major review websites and for good reason too. They’ve produced some of the most reasonably priced products on the markets, without compromising on features and performance and we are hoping to see those same values in the Theron Infrared today.

Were not expecting much new with the Theron, after all it is just a new edition of their other Theron mouse, the hardware looks pretty much the same, but the big question is, will the new sensor be a minor change or will it take the Theron to the next level of performance?

The Theron Infrared comes really nicely packed, which is something we’ve seen across the entire TteSports range. There are a few logos along the bottom that detail the major features such as function lock button, battle mode, on-board memory and the IR sensor.

Around the back we have more information on the sensor, weight adjustment and Omron switches, as well as some translated international details.

In the box we found a nice zip-lock padded bag, perfect for keeping your mouse scratch free when travelling to LAN events. There was also a small insert that contained the user manual and other product information.

The mouse comes hard wired with a braided USB cable, a strong moulded jack plug and a small Velcro strip to keep things neat and tidy.
