Since the launch of Z77 and the new Ivy Bridge processors, memory manufacturers are finding it easier to produce faster, larger capacity memory module kits, aimed at this particular platform and next up with us sees a brand that not many would have heard of, unless of course you’re in the industry yourself.
Team Group aren’t exactly a market leader for enthusiast memory; at least not in the UK but now that they have some big distributor and retail partners, they are trying to make a slightly bigger push than before, especially with their Xtreem LV series memory. which mainly consists of high speed memory starting from 2133MHz, and rising all the way up to a stonking 3000MHz in a variety of capacities including 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.
Today sees us looking at an 8GB 2600MHz kit branded under that Xtreem LV persona aimed at a multitude of Intel based DDR3 platforms offering some of the fastest speeds around, while trying to keep the latencies as low as possible, and they look pretty darn good too, at least from a first glance.
What we want to find out today however, is if this “specialist” memory can compete with some of the big brands that we’ve looked at recently, who are renowned for producing high-specification memory or whether Team Group are just trying their luck and it’s all a load of marketing talk. From what Team Group say at least, it seems promising with 100% tested and verified modules, carefully selected ICs and super thermal conduction heat spreaders.
