Thermaltake CTE C750 TG Air Case Review

Design

There’s a lot of familiarity to this design, as it follows the design philosophy we’ve seen Thermaltake use for many years now. The way the holes are cut in the front panel, the hard lines, and a mixture of brutal size and industrial looks, but with premium materials that make it look stunning too. There’s a huge amount of ventilation on the front panel and a nice Thermaltake logo towards the bottom of the panel. The case is big, so big in fact that I don’t have room in my little office to play with it, so it’s on the heavy trolly out in the garden, why not, it’s a nice day anyway!

On the side, it’s a huge piece of glass so you can see just about everything that’s going on in here. There’s no PSU shroud so that you can see various mounts and brackets throughout. But the case is extra-wide, and features a dual-chamber design, so there will be room to hide some stuff behind the motherboard.

At the rear, this is where you start to notice how different the case is! With another colossal mesh panel that’s pretty much as big as the front panel! There’s also more evidence of the dual-chamber design, with the PSU mount and a large grommet off to one side.

Then at the top of the case, you have yet another large ventilated panel, so where the heck is the I/O section? Well, it’s actually at the top, it’s just hiding! Giving the case a stunning clean aesthetic from every angle.

You may be wondering where your cables go. Remember the grommet on the back? That routes up to the top of the case, and under the top cover so you can hook up HDMI, USB and all the usual stuff; pretty clever!

On the interior, the design is very industrial looking, with a plethora of mounts that is frankly mind-boggling, but there are some truly vast cable grommets to keep things looking tidy. There are thumbscrews everywhere that it’s appropriate, and everything is finished in a matching black, so once your build is complete, all the boring bits should fade into the shadows.
