Based on the official pricing from Thermaltake, the UX100 retails for a price in the region of $14.99 (circa £12.99). This, I think we can all agree, is an amazingly low price for quite a lot of functionality.
When you consider that this cooler has RGB sync capability with motherboards, we honestly can’t think of another cooler with this level of features or style that retails for a price anything close to this!
The Thermaltake UX100 is an inexpensive cooler and, as such, limitations are only to be expected. For what you get for the money, however, it is surprisingly a really solid and decent cooler. One that is perhaps best suited for lower to mid-tier processors.
This isn’t going to compete in terms of performance to some of the more ‘bigger’ products out there. Products that, incidentally, can cost 5-10 times as much. On an entry-level basis, however, this retails for far less than the vast majority of products on the market and, in terms of functionality, offers far, far, more!
The RGB lighting effects to this cooler are simply amazing. Bright, strong, bold and vivid and, with sync or software control options, offer a surprisingly high level of control.
We’re not going to sugar coat this, the Thermaltake UX100 is only a realistic option if you’re looking for a replacement to your stock cooler that has a bit more going for it in terms of aesthetics. In this case, however, ‘a bit’ is a huge understatement.
For the price point that the UX100 is offered at, it’s build quality and RGB lighting effects far exceed the vast majority of releases of its contemporaries. While it isn’t necessary a strong performer in terms of temperatures, its good enough for stock performance, amazingly quiet and, quite simply, looks fantastic! For this price you shouldn’t expect miracles – Thermaltake has, however, tried (with some success) to make one happen here!
