Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 200 Amplified Headset Review

Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

Priced at just £49.99, the Turtle Beach recon 200 is one heck of a good deal. For those who love to game on mobile devices, and various consoles, you no longer need to have separate headsets that are compatible with each. Of course, it’s not like the Recon 200 is the first multi-format headset on the market. However, that doesn’t make it any less impressive. Available in either black or white variants, it should be easy to find something that suits your tastes also.

Overview

It seems weird that just a few days ago I would award a £250 headset from Turtle Beach with one of our top awards. It was a truly remarkable headset with impressive sound quality and features. However, it’s even more impressive that I can feel just as impressed with a £50 headset only a few days later. Would I choose this over their more premium flagship models? Not really. But, when it comes down to it, this is 1/5th of the price, works with more devices, and it wouldn’t break my heart if my kids accidentally stood on it. For more day to day uses, such as a headset for the teenage kids in your life, or is just a casual spare for yourself, I would be more than happy to keep one of these around the office or at home.

Build Quality

The build quality is pretty respectable for this price range. Obviously, there are a lot of plastics present in its design. As we’ve always seen from Turtle Beach, they’re expertly finished and it looks like a far more expensive headset than it actually is. Overall, I think that’s a mighty fine achievement from the designers.

Should I Buy One?

The inclusion of a built-in microphone, on headset controls, multi-format support, dual audio controls, leather padded ear cups, powerful drivers, great aesthetics and build quality, and an incredibly wallet-friendly price, make the Recon 200 one of the hottest gaming bargains of 2018 so far. Highly recommended!
