Unaired Game of Thrones Episode Leaks Online

First they threatened, then they leaked. Dubbed, boastfully, by the perpetrators as “the greatest leak of cyber space era,” hackers reportedly compromised 1.5TB of data from cable channel HBO. HBO, of course, is the channel behind international smash hit Game of Thrones. Following the attack, the hackers leaked episodes of Ballers and Room 104, teasing that episode four of Game of Thrones’ season seven could be next. The episode in question is now out in the wild. While this article is entirely spoiler-free, be careful out there.

Game of Thrones Episode Four, Season Seven Leaked

The Game of Thrones episode, entitled The Spoils of War, first leaked via Google Drive, though Google quickly took the file down. By then, though, it was out. The file can now be found in the usual haunts. However, while the source file appears to be a 1080p screener (as per the screenshot below), the leaked file is only 360p:

A History of Leaks

This isn’t the first time Game of Thrones has fallen victim to episode leaks, nor is this the most egregious. Two years ago, the first four episodes of season 5 leaked online. However, much like today’s leak, the files were low-quality and also watermarked. The first episode of season six also leaked early, but that copy was in glorious 1080p.

A Future of Leaks?

The current season of Game of Thrones is set to be the show’s penultimate year. The truncated season eight – rumoured to contain six feature-length episodes – is set to air as late as 2019. Since season seven has only four episodes left to air, that only leaves ten episodes left for potential leaks. Would you welcome more Game of Thrones leaks, or do you prefer enjoying the show on its official air date?
