In the small box for the Mobi I found the speaker itself, a soft protective pouch and a USB to Micro-USB charging cable.
The Mobi is quite a simplistic product, then again it is essentially just a speaker and doesn’t need to be complicated. From the side view here you can see that it features a mushroom shaped body, with the speaker outlet on the top, a stylish bit of silver trip around the outer edge, a power switch on the side and three small feet on the underside to keep it raised off which ever surface you place it upon.
The underside features a small recess to which you can tuck the 3.5mm cable away, its quite a short cable but just long enough keep it an inch or two from your device. You will also notice a small LED light in the middle that acts as a power indicator, which seems a little odd as we do have a clearly labelled power switch with “off / on” written on it and the LED is on the underside of the device where it can’t be seen, no big deal of course, its only an LED light.
The interesting thing however is that the base has a push-click mechanism that allows you to fold it away, greatly reducing the overall size of the device and this allows for easier storage. In this format the device comfortably fits in your pocket. There is however another practical purpose to this mechanism, which we’ll look at in a moment.
