Xbox Two – Massive Hardware Boost?
For reasons that are more than a little unclear, the last 24-hours have seen a massive amount of rumours sprout up surrounding the Xbox Two. Well, we call it the Xbox Two because that seems to be the name touted at the moment. Just for the sake of clarification though, this is the console set to replace the XBox One.
So, where to begin? Well, for starters, it is believed (to the point that seems practically factual) that the new console is codenamed ‘Scarlett’. There is, however, a rumour that is far more intriguing. Well, two actually!
Rumour Number 1 – Power!
In a report via T3, it is speculated that Microsoft is going to try and destroy the PS5 in terms of hardware. Exactly how it will do this is unclear. For example, both systems are expected to use a Ryzen based APU. What could this offer Microsoft that Sony might overlook? The Threadripper? Seems unlikely. That being said though, as they showed with the Xbox One X, Microsoft is certainly capable of doing this. At an affordable cost though?…
Rumour Number 2 – Games!
The 2nd rumour suggests that Microsoft is offering many developers near ‘blank cheques’ to create exclusive games for the console. It seems very clear that this time around, they don’t want to lose out to Sony again with the better (and certainly more desirable) exclusives.
On the whole, this is all very encouraging news from Microsoft who seem intent on not competing with Sony, and not even beating them, but smashing them!
As above, the only matter of curiosity will be the price!
