AKASO V50 Pro 4K Action Camera Review

How Much Does It Cost?

The AKASO V50 Pro retails for a price in the region of £120 ($119). That price may come as something of a shock as it’s not a brand that (at least to my knowledge) has ever dared to tip over the £100 mark with their products.

The AKASO V50 Pro, however, isn’t an action camera designed to be used as a toy. It comes with a number of professional features that would widely be considered excellent by enthusiasts of such products. As such, yet, it is costly, but you do get what you pay for and in this instance, you get a 4K action camera that can actually genuinely record in that quality without compromise!

How Easy Is It To Use?

AKASO products have always been easy to use with a highly intuitive design and the V50 Pro is no exception. Keeping things simply means that it’s easy to use. There’s no complicated settings, set-up or menus to navigate. You charge the battery, put it in and away you go!

The remote control/wrist accessory as make makes it hugely more convenient to film while in ‘action’ and being lightweight, you’re hardly going to know it’s there at all!

The AKASO V50 Pro is perhaps best in the hands of enthusiasts, but beginners will find no difficulties here!

Practicality

You can easily retrieve all of your saved images and photographs by simply plugging the device into your PC or laptop. If you are, however, a bit more tech-savvy, you can easily set this up to post directly to your social media feeds.

The wireless functionality is a bit trickier and does require some menu delving a 2″ touch screen isn’t particularly ideal for. Once you get the hang of it, however, it’s remarkably easy to get stuff out there for your friends to watch!

Should I Buy One?

A quick search on a retail website for ‘action cameras’ wouldn’t leave you struggling for products. Indeed, many of them claim to be 4K cameras offering amazing quality. The truth is, however, that as with most things, you get what you pay for and if you go cheap on a 4K action camera, the chances are its performance is not going to impress you.

So, where does the AKASO V50 Pro sit in all this? Well, put simply, it’s a genuine 4K action camera that’s a significant cut above the vast majority of other alternatives. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense action camera that simply does the job (and a bit more), this is it!
