Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

The new Nvidia RTX 20-series graphics cards range in price. Currently, there are Founders Editions of both the 2080 and the 2080 Ti. However, the 2070 edition will be released in the coming weeks. Of course, we’ve been busy testing partner cards too, such as those from MSI, Zotac, and more.

  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition – £1099.00

Overview

The launch of these new cards has certainly been interesting. Not only has Nvidia shown us that their cards are still king, it seems they’re just getting started. Right now, the RTX series are like any other GPU. However, only Turing series GPUs have the hardware onboard to deliver both Ray Tracing and DLSS to the next generation of games. With these two technologies set to roll out from many developers in the coming weeks and months, we expect to see many great things in the near future.

Performance

I’m staggered how well DLSS ran in the Final Fantasy XV benchmark. The image not only looked sharp, but ran smoothly and saw a huge performance boost too. Ray Tracing is demanding to run, no doubt about that. However, perhaps DLSS can alleviate some of that overhead? We’ll have to wait and see. I’m sure each developer will have their own pros and cons with how they integrate it. Either way, I’m eager to see it in action?
