Tecware Exo Elite RGB Lightweight Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Tecware EXO Elite is one of the more interesting ultra-light gaming mice we’ve seen in a while. It’s pretty clear it’s a clone of the Glorious, let’s be honest, everyone is doing it! However, despite being so closely matched in specifications, the Tecware EXO Elite is just a little bit cheaper. It is currently listed at £54.99 on Amazon, around £10 cheaper than Glorious, and even beating out other strong competition like the G Pro.

Overview

I’ve reviewed a few ultralight gaming mice this last year, and I’ve gotten hands on with a few more beyond that too. I really liked the Roccat Burst Pro, and the Mountain Makalu 67, and a few others which are doing something similar to the Tecware EXO Elite. However, I think Tecware have something seriously competitive on their hands and while the others are great, I think I’d personally go with the Tecware based on how it looks and how it feels in my hands. They’re all very competitive, and frankly, given Tecware is still a relatively new name, I think that’s high praise.

Performance

Tecware has gotten the basics absolutely right here. They’ve built this mouse around that award-winning PixArt sensor, and even have it tuned to offer a better DPI range than most of their competitors too. There’s a low and accurate lift-off height, and everything is fully customizable too. The mechanical switches feel unique and responsive too, and really give the EXO Elite a signature feel.

Build Quality

You would think removing material would make it weaker, but instead of curved bits of plastic, you end up with an ultra lightweight and strong exoskeleton that’s even more robust than the original. That being said, the mouse does feel more exposed to dust and debris. Of course, the important stuff is protected, but if you eat or smoke at your desk, or you have pets that climb on your desk, crud may build up in the mouse so take care of it. I have to praise Tecware for their cable sleeving too, its some of the nicest I’ve ever seen.

Should I Buy One?

Right now, you’re spoilt for choice on sub £60, eSports ready, award-winning gaming mice. I should know, almost every mouse I can think of, and given plenty of those awards out too. I enjoyed my first Tecware mouse 9 months ago, the Torque+, and it was super affordable too. While the Tecware EXO Elite is twice the price, it’s still more affordable than other lightweight competitors. It’s a superb gaming mouse, with one of the best sensors on the market today. Tecware may be relatively new, but they’re giving more established names in the business a run for their money.
