Thermaltake Level 20 RS ARGB Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Thermaltake Level 20 RS ARGB mid-tower PC case is available now from most major retailers. It’s on Amazon in the UK for a very reasonable £153.96. OK, we know that’s not cheap, but just look at the size of the thing. That’s a lot of case, a lot of tempered glass, a lot of fans and a lot of ARGB too. You’re paying up, but you’re certainly getting your monies worth. It’s also on Amazon US for just $149.99.

Overview

Thermaltake has been on a bit of a winning streak with their bigger PC cases for a while now. The whole Level 20 series just keeps on getting better while still offering a version for seemingly everyone. The sleeker and clean lines of the Level 20 MT, the enormous Level 20 HT cube thing, or the Level 20 GT, which is basically the RS with more tempered glass and rounded corners. The list goes on, but as I said, they’ve got all the angles covered right now.

Build Quality

It’s pretty robust, with a really sturdy steel frame on the interior. That’s not a big surprise though, it’s built to handle several absolutely massive radiators. All that liquid would be extremely heavy and it’s built to hold it all. It’s a bit heavy on its own actually, but with two huge sheets of tempered glass and those big fans installed in the front, that’s to be expected. It’s also one of the biggest mid-towers I’ve ever seen, on any other day, I’d call it a full-tower because it pretty much is.

Keeping it Cool

The biggest selling point of this case has to be its cooling potential. Right out of the box, you’re getting massive airflow from the front panel, with two lovely 200mm fans pre-installed. All the heat is shoved out the back thanks to a quality exhaust fan, and anything else can passively exhaust out of the top. Slap and air cooler on your CPU and you’re done.

Of course, it goes beyond that, as you can mount fans in the top, bottom and the side panel if you so desire. Or you can fit a big AIO cooler somewhere, or you can add a plethora of custom loop hardware. No matter what you choose, it seems the Level 20 GT ARGB is built to handle it.

Should I Buy One?

There’s a big market for big PC cases, and Thermaltake has some tough competition at this price range. However, I think their inclusion of those ARGB fans, an RGB controller, loads of dust filters, loads of drive mounts, and a dual tempered glass design keep them just as competitive, if not a little more so, than anything else in this price range. It’s a unique looking design, and I think that’ll be its biggest appeal.
