Yesterday (November 11th in case you’re not reading this today) marked the 100th anniversary since the end of World War One. Like many others, you likely observed a silence at 11 am to remember all of those lost in conflict around the world.
With Battlefield 1 being set during the first world war, while the game itself did mark the event, players on a server decided to honour it themselves in a very unique manner. Yes, for a brief period, an armistice was observed in remembrance.
For a brief period, around 20 players decided to hold a temporary truce the mark the event. As you can see in the video above, it was remarkably well done. You do not often get that many opposing players in such close proximity without someone spoiling it.
While it lasted for around 40 seconds, someone decided to raid the beach with a plane. This seemed to indicate that the temporary truce had come to an end. This was cemented further when the player recording took a bayonet to the back. Still, for how long it lasted, it was a rather nice tribute.
